Hohenloher Freilandmuseum, Dorfstraße 53, 74523 Schwäbisch Hall - Wackershofen
No electricity, no cell phone, no television - our ancestors have mastered their lives even without these technical achievements! The Hohenlohe Open Air Museum in Schwäbisch-Hall-Wackershofen provides a vivid and authentic insight into how their everyday lives looked like 500 years ago.
70 historical buildings from five centuries can be explored within a 40-hectare picturesque area with gardens, orchards and many animals of old breeds. Farmhouses, schoolhouse, prison, chapel, mill and railway station - the buildings used to stand in the Württembergisch Franken region and were reconstructed and furnished in Wackershofen true to the original.
The numerous events and markets are full of hustle and bustle. The open-air museum invites you to a cheese market, oven festival, craftsmen's day, plant festival or a night of lights. Particularly popular are the Living History events, which make earlier life and work directly experienceable.
Embark on an exciting journey through time: The offers of the open-air museum are both exciting and enjoyable for young and old.
