Wechselburg Romanische Basilika

Markt 10, 09306 Wechselburg

Wechselburg Romanische Basilika
Already in the 12th century, the Romanesque basilica of Wechselburg is still one of the most important examples of Romanesque architecture in Saxony. The sacred building was constructed from porphyry stone. In addition to a filigree winged altar, visitors can also admire a rood screen here. This is a partition wall from the year 1230, richly decorated with figures of saints.
