Nibelungenstraße 32, 64653 Lorsch
Lorsch Abbey, located in the Rhein-Neckar Metropolitan Region, is listed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site. The impressive Königshalle entrance hall, with its colourful sandstone façade, is the abbey’s best preserved building and a real highlight from the early Carolingian period. The abbey is even mentioned in the famous Nibelungenlied poem. According to legend, it is where Siegfried, the crown prince of Xanten, was laid to rest.
