The Bode Valley near Thale is considered the most rugged rocky valley north of the Alps. The area is particularly well-known for its legends and myths, which visitors can discover on the approximately 3.6-kilometre-long Mythenweg trail. Another highlight is the Harz Mountain Theatre on the so-called "Hexentanzplatz", from whose stands you can enjoy the panoramic view of the Harz foothills.
