Limes + Waterlinies UNESCO Werelderfgoed

The Lower Germanic Limes, a UNESCO World Heritage Site since 2021, is a fascinating testimony to Roman history that stretches along the border of the former Roman Empire. It consists of 19 archaeological sites along the Rhine. Most of the historic buildings have merged with the landscape over time. Digital visualisations show ancient architecture, water management and defence strategies which bring the Roman presence in the Netherlands to life.
