Below the Hohenburg castle ruins on the Schlossberg in Homburg, visitors can explore the Schlossberg caves. These are Europe's largest man-made red sandstone caves. The fascinating, yellow-red discolouration of the sand can be admired on 12 floors in numerous corridors and impressive domed halls. A constant temperature of between 8-10 degrees Celsius prevails here between the cool rocks.
