Friedland - Tor zur Freiheit

Tor zur Freiheit, L1001, 37133 Friedland

Friedland - Tor zur Freiheit
Friedland was given the name "Gateway to Freedom" after the Second World War. At this time, thousands of people fled from the Soviet to the British occupation zone. The most prominent is the village of Besenhausen, because this is where the border crossing was located. The border cottage has been preserved to this day. The Friedland Museum shows how the refugees of the time were received and cared for.
