At the German Petroleum Museum in Wietze, everything revolves around the extraction of "black gold". Tools and measuring equipment can be marvelled at in the museum hall, while technical constructions adorn the outside area. The centrepiece of the site is a 54-metre-high drilling rig from 1961. You can also enter an oil shaft and ride on historic diesel locomotives.
