The Bois du Cazier, a historic mine and UNESCO World Heritage Site since 2012, offers exciting insights into the industrial past of the Hainaut region. A tragedy occurred here in 1956 - the biggest mining accident in Belgian history. Visitors can visit a memorial or explore the impressive industrial heritage through museums and exhibitions to discover the history of coal and glass production.
