Welcome to vintage half-timbered beer: Einbeck

The former Hanseatic town of Einbeck is idyllically situated in the heart of the state, between the low mountain ranges of Weserbergland, Harz and Solling. With 46 villages, it is the largest town in southern Lower Saxony. There is so much to discover here!

OLDTIME TOWN

Not far from Einbeck's old town centre is a listed granary. The old building has been renovated and has been home to the PS.SPEICHER since 2014: a varied, interactive exhibition about the history, present and future of mobility. The classic car universe has been expanded to include 5 further collections. You can marvel at more than 2,500 exhibits in Europe's largest classic car collection!

FACHWERKSTADT

Strolling through Einbeck's alleyways and across the market square is like a glimpse into the past. Beautiful half-timbered houses, richly decorated with colourful carvings. A very special treasure of craftsmanship dates back to 1612: the Eicke House, in the centre of the old town, is a richly decorated, listed, 400-year-old half-timbered house from the late Renaissance.

TRADE CITY

BEER TOWN

Without Einbeck, there would be no real bock beer!Beer brewing has been a tradition here for centuries and ‘Ainpöckisch Bier’ is an export hit. Thanks to the Hanseatic League, it was exported to many parts of Europe and soon became the talk of the town. Thanks to exports to Munich and the Bavarian dialect, ‘Ainpöckisch’ soon became the famous bock beer that everyone knows today!
