Welcome to Owen

Widely visible is the medieval Teck Castle at an airy height of 773 metres. It was probably built in the 11th century by Konrad von Zähringen, who called himself "Duke of Teck". It served as a fortress, knight's castle and residence of the duke. Only the outer walls and remains of the round towers have survived. The castle itself was already destroyed in 1525 during the Peasant War.

Teck Castle is the landmark of the city of Owen and stands on its local mountain, the Teckberg. It is a popular destination for excursions. If you want to get there, you have to take a 1.5 km long, partly steep footpath. Once at the top, the visitor can expect a variety of pleasures: First of all beautiful views down into the valley, to Owen and Kirchheim unter Teck. In addition, a restaurant with a garden terrace provides for a culinary, relaxing stay.
