The Taunus

The Wetterau Limes have been listed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site since 2005. It represents one of the largest sections of the famous Roman border wall in Hesse.

The proximity to the cosmopolitan Rhine-Main Region on the one side and the beautiful unspoilt nature on the other, make this nature park a very special place.

The Wetterau Lake District is a wonderful destination for relaxing and recreation in the heart of Hesse. It comprises eight large and numerous small lakes – many of which offer perfect conditions for water sports and angling.

The Roman fortress in Saalburg is the world’s only completely reconstructed Roman fortress and has been listed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site since 2005.
