Neuendettelsau was first mentioned in written records in AD 1298. Through the work of the pastor Wilhelm Löhe, the town underwent a profound change from 1837 onwards.

The Sömmersdorf passion play, or Easter pageant, can look back on a long tradition, as the first passion play was performed here as early as 1933. -
Minstrel town of Wolframs-Eschenbach
Since 1917, the town has been named after Wolfram von Eschenbach, the famous minstrel and poet who was born and buried here. The Liebfrauenmünster church is one of the oldest wide-aisle Gothic churches in southern Germany. -

German Aviation Pioneer Museum – Leutershausen
The German Aviation Pioneer Museum in Leutershausen commemorates the aviation pioneer Gustav Weißkopf. The museum is housed in the historic setting of the former Bavarian district court. -
