Arcades, onion-shaped domes and pastel-toned house facades characterise Rosenheim’s historic old town. Its major landmark is the Parish Church of St. Nicolaus.

Awaiting you in the Haßberge Nature Park is an almost untouched landscape, colourful mixed woodlands and historic vineyards. It’s no coincidence that the region is known as the “land of castles, palaces and ruins”.

The historic old town of Weiden in der Oberpfalz is particularly picturesque. Especially charming are two splendid town gates, the pretty art nouveau buildings and the Renaissance gabled houses in the market square.

Ingolstadt is considered to be the home of pure beer, because it was here that the Bavarian Beer Purity Law was decreed in 1516: only barley, hops and water were allowed to be used for brewing beer.

The Collegiate Basilica of St. Vitus and St. Deocar in Herrieden is adorned with outstanding architecture and artistic features. It was promoted to a basilica by Pope Benedict XVI in 2010.

Fantastic scenery and many historic gems await you in the small town of Himmelkron. In the former nunnery, you will find one of Germany’s most beautiful medieval cloisters featuring music-making angels.

The River Aisch stretches from its source near Marktbergel over a good 85 kilometres to Forchheim, where it joins the River Regnitz. With over 7,000 water meadows, it is the largest contiguous stretch of water meadows in Europe.

A stroll through the old town of historic Beilngries offers delightful sights at every turn: for example, the beautiful baroque buildings like the town hall and a number of churches and chapels with elaborate works of art.

The historic pilgrimage church of Maria Rain stands in the village of the same name in the district of Oy-Mittelberg. Built in 1496, it is regarded today as the prettiest village church in Allgäu.

The historic old town of Mindelheim has an impressive array of museums – including the Swabian Crib Museum with the oldest baby Jesus in the world.

The small town of Nabburg is an attractive destination with historic charm dating back over a millennium. Its almost fully intact town wall towers over the Naab Valley.

One of the most famous features in the town of Hof is the imposing town hall with a tower open to visitors. The Bürgerpark Theresienstein, which was well-known to Goethe, is one of the oldest and most beautiful German parks.

Nestled among the Chiemgau Alps lies the woodcutters' museum Ruhpolding, which tells the story of the hard life led by the forest workers, called locally "Holzknechte".

North of the pilgrimage town of Altötting lies the historic old town of Neuötting. The heart of this popular shopping town on the River Inn is the attractive Ludwigstraße.

Lengenfeld Castle with over 1000 years of history dominates the historic town of Burglengenfeld. Encircled by an 800-metre wall, it is the largest castle in the Upper Palatinate.
