A walk around the Franconian Open-Air Museum in Bad Windsheim is like embarking on a journey through 700 years of history relating to local Franconian life.

The former imperial villages of Gochsheim and Sennfeld are renowned for their Peace Festivals. The festivals in Gochsheim and Sennfeld were awarded Intangible Cultural Heritage status by UNESCO in 2016.

The European Sculpture Park adds an artistic touch to the footpath next to the River Schwarze Laber in the town of Beratzhausen. On display are 40 works by international artists covering a variety of subjects.

Schesslitz presents a unique blend of architectural styles and architecture from different eras. The chapel on the rocky Gügel high above the surrounding forests is a feature of the Bamberg region.

The Kastulus Minster is Moosburg an der Isar’s prominent landmark. It was built in the 12th century and is home to an array of outstanding artworks. Ancient inscriptions are still visible on the richly ornamented Romanesque portal.

The Haus im Moos is an open-air museum in the village of Kleinhohenried and tells the story of the Donaumoos fenlands. There are also nature discovery trails to explore and an animal enclosure.

Lindau is located on the east bank of Lake Constance. It covers an area of around 70 hectares and is therefore the lake’s second largest island.

In Abensberg, you can marvel at the medieval old town and the modern artistic elements from Friedensreich Hundertwasser. Here you can discover artworks inspired by Hundertwasser’s style.
