The Weltenburg Abbey in Kelheim occupies a particularly picturesque spot in the Danube Gorge. Impressive rock formations surround the Benedictine abbey in this romantic setting.

In the Middle Ages, the market town of Feucht was a centre for beekeeping and honey production. The medieval court building and the town’s three patrician castles can all be found along a pretty footpath.

Built in 1781, the Cultural Palace in the Kümmersbruck suburb of Theuern houses the Mining & Industry Museum of East Bavaria. The subjects covered include mining, the Industrial Age and mineral resources.
