Wilhelma in Stuttgart is in a unique way not only a zoo, but also a botanical garden and historical park.

The Sababurg Wildlife Park is located in the heart of the Reinhardswald hills. It’s the oldest zoological garden in Germany to still occupy its original site. Covering an area of 13 hectares, the park contains a variety of wildlife.

Living in the Knüll Wildlife Park’s 50 hectares of woods and meadows are around 450 animals.

In the Gersfeld Wildlife Park you can discover the wild side of the Rhön Mountains. Explore the idyllic and unspoilt Wiesental valley with its coniferous and mixed forest surrounds.

The Alte Fasanerie Wildlife Park is a wonderful destination for a day in Hanau’s natural surroundings. Among the mature trees, a variety of rare and shy animals can be observed such as wild cats, wolves, lynxes and elks.

Between the two lakes of Staffelsee and Kochelsee in the village of Großweil lies the Glentleiten Open-air Museum. The Schwaiganger State Stud Farm is also close by.

With over 250 animals, Tambach Castle wildlife sanctuary is the largest in northern Bavaria. Enjoy a stroll through the magnificent English castle park with its ancient trees, streams and ponds.

Straubing Zoo, located at the heart of the town’s park, has been welcoming visitors for over 80 years. Originally featuring only a small number of animals, the collection now comprises some 200 local and exotic species.

The zoological garden in Hof lies in a delightful location on the edge of the town park. Besides the numerous native and exotic animals the complex offers a wealth of clear information on natural history.

In the Hundshaupten Wildlife Park, you will encounter native and exotic wild animals and pets in wonderful natural surrounds. Besides the feeding and bird of prey shows, a further attraction is the adventure playground.

Augsburg Zoo covers an area of 22 hectares. Besides species-appropriate habitats for around 1200 animals from all over the world, it has many great offers such as evening tours and jungle nights.

With its rugged sandstone outcrops and centuries-old trees, Nuremberg Zoo or Tiergarten Nürnberg is one of the prettiest zoological gardens in Germany.
