Zeulenrodaer Meer

The Zeulenroda reservoir, which was completed in 1975, is also popularly known as the Zeulenroda Sea. The 362 metre long and 37 metre high bridge claimed four lives during construction, which are commemorated today by a memorial stone.  Together with four other dams, it once secured the drinking water supply for the entire East Thuringia region. A hotel has been welcoming guests from all over the world here since 2001.
