Vianden

Vianden Castle, an impressive example of medieval architecture, rises majestically above the town of the same name. Originally owned by the Grand Ducal family, it is now one of Europe's most important architectural monuments. In the course of extensive renovation work starting in 1977, a modern visitor centre was created that offers interactive insights into the history of the castle. Every summer, a lively medieval festival attracts visitors with colourful performances and historical animations.
