The university and Hanseatic city of Greifswald is best known for its Eldena monastery ruins. The painter Caspar David Friedrich, whose birthplace can be visited by visitors to Greifswald, immortalised this 12th century sacred buildingon a painting. The museum harbour right on the water invites you to take a stroll. The viewing platform of St Nikolai's Church offers sweeping panoramas.
