Haithabu and the Danewerk are an extraordinary testimony to the trade relations between different countries and have been a UNESCO World Heritage Site since 2018. In the Viking Age from the 8th to the 11th century. The borderland between Scandinavia and the European mainland was secured by the trading centre of Haithabu and the ramparts of the Danewerk. The Haithabu Viking Museum provides more detailed insights.
