UNESCO Welterbe Gartenreich Dessau-Wörlitz

The Garden Kingdom of Dessau-Wörlitz has held the title of UNESCO World Heritage Site since 2000. The landscaped garden, which dates back to the 18th century, covers an area of almost 150 square kilometres. It was the first to be created on the European mainland, modelled on the English model. Thanks to the interplay of art, culture and nature, the park is regarded as a philosophical and political garden artwork.
