Historic old towns

Torgau Stadt der Renaissance

Markt 1, 04860 Torgau

Torgau Stadt der Renaissance
Torgau is widely known as the "town of the Renaissance", as hardly any other town in Saxony has so many buildings from the 16th century. These include Hartenfels Castle, whose ensemble also includes the world's first new Protestant church building. In the Bürgermeister-Ringenhain-Haus not far from the market square, however, there are murals worth seeing. While visitors to the brewery museum learn more about historical beer varieties.
