Stauferland | Lorch Monastery

Lorch Abbey in Stauferland overlooks the Rems Valley and can be seen from afar. The former Benedictine monastery was founded more than 900 years ago as the burial place of the Hohenstaufen family. In the late Middle Ages, the monastery experienced its heyday, late Gothic ribbed vaults and magnificent altars were added. You can still visit the complex with its church, farm buildings and monastery garden.
