Idyllically situated in the Erzgebirge district, Schneeberg am Filzteich is known above all for its centuries-old mining tradition. Mining on the Schneeberg was first mentioned in documents over 500 years ago. The Siebenschlehener Pochwerk technical museum to the north presents the history of the mining town and the region in special and permanent exhibitions.
