The residence on the castle island of Mirow was built at the beginning of the 18th century as a widow's residence for Duchess Emilie von Mecklenburg-Strelitz. Rather plain on the outside, the castle has a magnificently decorated banqueting hall on the inside. The buildings also house an exhibition on the history of the duchy. The surrounding English landscape garden invites you to take long walks.
