Schloss Plötzkau
Plötzkau Castle with its keep rises up out of the landscape not far from the Saale. Once the seat of the Counts of Plötzkau in the 11th century, the castle was converted into a residential palace in the 16th century. Visitors can learn more about the history of the castle in the tower museum. The top room in the tower offers beautiful views of the "Unteres Saaletal" nature park.
