Schloss Ettersburg

Built by the Saxe-Weimar dynasty in the 18th century, Ettersburg Castle near Weimar served as a residence until 1918. Illustrious personalities such as Goethe, Wieland and Herder performed their works here. Today, the UNESCO World Heritage castle serves as a hotel and conference centre. The surrounding park is a highlight. It covers six hectares and was designed by the famous landscape architect Prince Pückler.
