Ringheiligtum Pömmelte

South of Magdeburg, the Pömmelte ring sanctuary is part of the Himmelswege Sky Walks, an archaeological tourist route in Saxony-Anhalt. The cult site, which is over 4,000 years old and is similar in size and function to Stonehenge, was rebuilt on the original site using thousands of wooden posts. In the neighbouring Salzland Museum, visitors can see the finds from the site up close.
