Brown signs in Europe

Historic old towns

Riesa an der Elbe

Hauptstraße 61, 01589 Riesa

Riesa an der Elbe
The origins of the town of Riesa date back to a monastery on the Elbe that was first mentioned in the 12th century. This and the adjoining church, which is one of the oldest sacred buildings in the region, can be visited as part of a guided tour. It is also worth making a detour to the "Elbquelle", Europe's tallest iron sculpture at 25 metres.
