The small town of Plau am See is not only known for its well-preserved medieval architecture, but also for the Müritz bear sanctuary. This is located at the southern end of Lake Plau and is home to rescued bears, which are cared for here in the largest bear conservation centre in Western Europe. You can observe the animals in their extensive enclosure on a circular route.
