Pirna
The district town of Pirna is known above all for its historic old town centre and its location on the Elbe. The Renaissance and Baroque town hall is particularly worth seeing. Pirna also offers a varied cultural programme, including two cabaret theatres, a GDR museum with around 120,000 historical exhibits and Zuschendorf Castle, which is home to one of the largest azalea collections in Europe.
