The centre of the small Mecklenburg town of Parchim is characterised by brick and half-timbered houses. The town hall and the 13th-century Parish church of St Georgen are examples of Gothic architecture. You can find out more about the town's history at the Parchim Museum. As well as hiking in the Wockertal valley, the Wockersee lake in the north of Parchim is ideal for swimming and sailing.
