The UNESCO World Heritage Site Muskauer Park and the Heath and Pond Landscape Biosphere Reserve as well as cultural centres such as Görlitz and Bautzen make the Upper Lusatia-Lower Silesia region a popular destination for visitors. The 1000-year-old town of Bautzen offers insights into Sorbian culture, while in Kamenz the poet Lessing, who was born there, takes centre stage. Görlitz impresses with its historic architecture, which has been used as a film set many times.
