Nossentiner-Schwinzer Heide
In the Nossentiner-Schwinzer Heide Nature Park, the last ice age created a landscape which, in addition to the largest contiguous forest area in Mecklenburg-Vorpommern, is also known for its lakes. These can boast excellent water quality and are home to numerous rare animal species. An educational trail in Bossow reveals more about native bats, while the Damerower Werder bison reserve offers protection to this endangered European cattle species.
