Founded in 1795, the Meyer shipyard is still in operation today. Luxury cruise ships are built here for shipping companies from all over the world. Visitors can find out how the steel giants are created in the visitor centre, which also presents a gigantic ship's propeller alongside models and interactive display boards. If you turn up at the right time, you can even experience the maiden voyage of a cruise ship.
