Meißen

Meissen is internationally renowned for its porcelain manufactory, which produces skilfully crafted unique pieces. The town also has prestigious buildings such as the historic town hall from the 15th century. Even older is Albrechtsburg Castle, which towers over the banks of the Elbe and can be seen from afar. It is considered the "cradle of Saxony" and was once the seat of government of the Wettin dynasty.
