Königsbrücker Heide

Saxony's largest contiguous nature reserve is the Königsbrücker Heide in West Lusatia. As there was a military training area here until 1992, the area was never built on. Rare animal species such as beavers have found a home here. Visitors can keep an eye out for these animal builders on the 13-kilometre-long beaver trail. There are also two viewing towers overlooking the wooded heathland.
