The canoe park on Lake Markkleeberg, which was built as part of Leipzig's bid for the 2012 Olympic Games, is one of the most modern sports facilities of its kind. Here, a pumping system with 2,800 hp simulates the conditions of real white water. The routes are not only used for competitions. Hobby paddlers can also try out kayaking and white water rafting under expert guidance.
