Welcome to Villingen-Schwenningen

The historic town of Villingen in the Black Forest presents itself in medieval splendor. Large defensive walls, mighty gates, towers and sublime churches characterize the cityscape. Together with eleven other cities in Germany and Switzerland, Villingen is one of the Zähringer cities.

During a walk you can explore the city. Worth seeing is the minster "Unserer Lieben Frau" or the Franciscan Museum with Black Forest collection and Celtic grave. In the Benedictine church you can marvel at the famous Silbermann organ or experience with our city guides an exciting journey through the history of Villingen.

A range of shops in the city center invite you to stroll. In cozy cafes and inns, the Baden cuisine combines with the Swabian. A special tip: Visit Villingen-Schwenningen in the 5th season, the Carnival. The colorful fool hustle in the city centers must be experienced. No wonder the Swabian-Alemannic Carnival belongs to the intangible world heritage.
