On the site of the former inner-German border crossing Duderstadt-Worbis, the Eichsfeld Borderland Museum offers an exploration of recent German history. As a memorial and place of learning, you can not only visit historical buildings such as the control tower, but also an exhibition. It tells of the life of the local population and the Peaceful Revolution of 1989. A hiking trail takes visitors to the originally preserved border fortifications.
