Gedenkstätte Buchenwald

The Buchenwald Memorial is located on the Ettersberg near Weimar, on the site of the former concentration camp of the same name. Although most of the buildings were demolished after the Second World War, the entrance gate, crematorium and detention cells can still be visited today. An exhibition tells more about the fate of the almost 280,000 prisoners who were imprisoned there between 1937 and 1945.
