The Fischland-Darß-Zingst peninsula stretches 45 kilometres between Rostock and Stralsund. It is largely a nature reserve and attracts tens of thousands of cranes every autumn. Deer can also be observed in the steppe landscape of Fischland-Darß-Zingst. The coastline boasts shallow beaches, while historic captain's houses adorn the villages of the peninsula.
