With its five bastions, Dömitz Fortress rises clearly out of the flat Elbe River Landscape Biosphere Reserve. In addition to a gunpowder cellar, you can visit historic flats, colonial shops and a pharmacy. A museum presents the 400-year history of the fortress, while guided tours show visitors the medieval drawbridge in action.
