Eppingen is surrounded by one of the largest contiguous forest areas in Baden-Württemberg and the Stromberg-Heuchelberg Nature Park (https://www.heilbronnerland.de/area/naturpark-stromberg-heuchelberg). Located directly on the S4 light rail line, it offers quick connections to the centers of Heilbronn and Karlsruhe as well as the Rhine-Neckar district.
First mentioned in documents in 985, but already 5,000 years ago, in the Neolithic Age, Linear Pottery culture settlers lived here. The grounds of the Eppingen Garden Show 2022 surround parts of the old town as a small, charming park.

### Hiking, cycling, and forest experiences in and around Eppingen The romantic Jägersee lake lies at the edge of the Eppinger Hardt forest. The forest nature trail starts right at the Jägersee lake. Over a distance of 3 km, hikers are invited to smell, hear, and feel the forest. There are also numerous signposted cycle paths and themed bike tours around Eppingen.
