Verden Cathedral was built between 1290 and 1490 on the remains of a Carolingian church. This long construction period is reflected above all in its architecture, which combines Romanesque and Gothic elements. Inside, visitors can admire the nine-metre-high high altar and a baptismal font from the 13th century.
