Bardowick Cathedral was built in the late 15th century  but has older octagonal towers. These are barely higher than the nave and give the brick building, which is unique in Lower Saxony, its characteristic appearance. The portal in the Romanesque style is also unique. Finally, the interior boasts a bronze baptismal font and a richly decorated winged altar.
