Burg & Schloss Allstedt
The ensemble of castle and palace above Allstedt was first mentioned in documents in the 9th century under the name "Alstediburg". The complex was one of the most important royal and imperial palaces from the 10th to the 12th century. Over the centuries, it has witnessed a chequered history due to various alterations, changes of ownership and use as a Reformation site.
