Blaudruck Scheeßel UNESCO-Kulturerbe
From 1847 to 1950, two workshops in Scheeßel practised the art of blue printing. This is a dyeing process for fabrics in which a white pattern is created on a blue background. Since 2018, blueprinting has been part of UNESCO's intangible cultural heritage. Visitors can visit an exhibition at the local history museum in Scheeßel and watch volunteer blue printers at work.
