Bergstadt Marienberg
A historic town centre, which is even a UNESCO World Heritage Site, characterises the mountain town of Marienberg. It was laid out at right angles in the Renaissance style. The Zschopau Gate bears witness to the fortifications from the 16th century, while the local history museum presents the history of the region. The Molchner Stolln show mine, around six kilometres away, offers an insight into silver ore mining.
